Cross Section Design: BS Track combined its offer referring to BRITISH STEEL long history of designing track shoe profiles. Depending on the application, the cross section has been optimized to meet the requirements and maximize performance.
Chemical Composition: BS Track cooperate with BRITISH STEEL’s specialists for track shoe profiles to ensure that the hardening process at BS Track Plant can be optimally implemented giving BS Track shoes the required hardness and resilience. This combination grants the longest service life.
Standard
We offer a range of boron-treated steels with a nominal carbon content of 0.3%. Increased levels of alloy content are available to allow customers to match hardenability, section size and heat treatment quench severity. This ensures the most suitable core hardness in the finished track shoe.
Lower carbon steels
A range of boron-treated steels is available with low sulphur and/or a lower carbon content of 0.25%. This improves crack resistance – prolonging shoe life and enhancing field performance.
Test Laboratory: BS Track largely invested in a fully equipped in-house test laboratory. We certify the requirements for hardness, toughness, tensile strength, yield strength, elongation, fatigue strength and every other parameter. Measurements and tests are recorded at BS Track from incoming raw material to the finished product.
100% Inline 3D LASER Quality Control: Through BS Track self-developed 3D laser scanning equipment we measure and record all geometries, tolerances, and other important parameters such as flatness on each track shoe produced.
